I live in Tucson, AZ with my wife, Ingrid Novodvorsky, and two cats, Kendall and Sapphire. For those of you who have visited the site before you know that Kendal had a brother named Jackson. Because they looked so much alike we often couldn't tell them apart so we gave them the interchangeable names of Kendal and Jackson (which also happens to be the house wine). Thus they were called K & J. As K & J, they were referred to collectively as the Men in Black. They had been with us for fifteen years when we lost J in 2020. K is still with us.

In 2020 we added Picka, who was four at the time, to our family. She was adopted from the Maincoon Rescue Society in Arizona. She has been renamed to Sapphire.

I moved to Tucson my first year of high school (Sahuaro - Go Cougars) in 1968 and have been here ever since.

I'm a three time graduate of the University of Arizona (Go Cats) with a BA in Secondary Education, a Masters of Educational in Educational Technology (my favorite degree - an M.Ed. in Ed.M), and a Ph.D. in Secondary Education

I began working for the UA in 1978 and, except for when I retired for five years (2010-2015, been there ever since.

I began working in the PLATO Lab programming instructional materials for the Navajo language and some physics lessons.

For 17 years I was the Director of Humanities Computing and Technology and for two years, the Director of the Digital Media Resource Center in the Integrated Learning Center, a job that launched my interest in learning space design.

I then spent a year in the Learning Technologies Center where I worked with faculty across campus.

In 2005, I realized I was tired of what I had been doing for 27 years and decided to retire.

I then formed the 21st Century Learning Group and did consulting in a variety of tech related areas.

During this time, I was able to reignite my love of K-12 education and became involved with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). I've had a great time working with ISTE, and the state Affiliate AzTEA exploring a variety of issues from tech integration to advocacy.

In 2010, I had the wonderful opportunity to join the faculty of the Educational Technology Program where I served as the Program Director. I had the opportunity of working with a variety of great graduate students interested in learning more about technology. The program closed in 2021 and I decided to retire for good. However, I'm keeping my hand in by teaching one course for the College of Social and Behavioral Science in the eSociety program.

When not teaching technology, Ingrid and I like to bike and hike around Arizona. We also love traveling, taking cruises, and we used to scuba dive (there may still be dives in the future - who knows).
